Ithaca Voice article about some future developments. Some info has been posted before, but the first item (Rimland Tower) surprised me with how far along it is in the system. Plus I'm also surprised that the new building over the Rothchild's Building.

There was also a recent Voice article about a new proposal for multi-use area along Cherry Street on the west end:

Ithica, the athens of America, and the snobbiest most pretentious people on earth. Makes Oxford look like your typical friendly Mid Western town.

Might help if you spelled it right: IthAca. btw have you ever been to SanFrancisco? Pretentious indeed.

The city planning board meeting had a couple of surprises, but not too much in the way of progress for several projects. What might take a few months of reviews in other cities could take years in Ithaca. Opinionated folks up there. From the Ithaca Voice:

The City Planning Board meeting went well except for the talk about rezoning the Waterfront district. Sounds like a waste of potential land which could be used for development and hasn't been active for years. However the last little paragraph has a major announcement for my old neighborhood of Collegetown. From the Ithaca Voice:

Sometimes the city really pisses me off. Seems like everyone thinks they're and architect, engineer, landscape designer or such. Slow the approval process. I'm surprised any developer puts up with al of it. Anyway here'summary of the latest planning meeting. I thought Asteri was going to breeze through especially since its affordable housing.
