Hackery has run amuck when it comes to aldermanic leadership.
No vision at all..... |
^Is that about the above? That looks really nice. Looks like a thinner 150 N minus the structural core base.

Why can't this be the standard for all our tall buildings? |
I think that at least in this case the bar is being raised by bkl. if WPW were by SCB there's no way we'd being seeing such a good revision of WPE.
|
Steely, can you change the floor count to it's pathetic new number too please?
I think there's a mezzanine or two. https://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a...D720/ry%3D480/ https://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a...D720/ry%3D480/ |

Sad about the height chop too, but its narrow E-W profile will still make for a good aesthetic. I'm just now seeing its resemblance to 111 W Wacker, though when comparing the two, 111 will appear rather juvenile. Well done, Pelli.
|
I know we're all height freaks here but I think 675' might actually fit into the area better since there are so many neighboring building in the ~750' range. A little variation is better than a plateau. At least the tallest still looks to be 950+

Walsh now has this listed for subcontractor bids being taken in a couple weeks.......
|
Well I guess they are serious. The apt boom continues.

East Tower posting is up on McHugh's site as well now.....
|
^Wow, typical jaw-dropping shit, Nick!
Hey mods, as stated earlier, bid drawings are out for WPE, and elevation is 663'-6". It's a beauty of a tower and is so reminiscent of 150 N Riverside. I love that they're in the same vicinity. |
Great to hear WPE is on track for groundbreaking in a couple months....really looking forward to this one!
Arranging debt construction financing for downtown apartment projects has certainly gotten much more challenging than it was 2-3 years ago, but there are certainly at least a handful of developers that are going to be able to pull it off still this year..... |
