AUSTIN | Huston Heights | 2 BLDGS | 16 FLOORS
This project is worthy of note because it will be located east of I-35 directly across from downtown. These will be the two tallest buildings east of I-35 in Austin. They're also planning a 70,000 square foot grocery store. Oddly enough, the site is now occupied by a shopping center that once housed a grocery store about 30 years ago.
The site is approved for heights up to 150 feet without any further permits, but they're asking for a variance up to 200 feet. Soil testing was spotted being conducted today also. http://www.austin-ind.com/news/comme...-austin-texas/ Quote:

A pdf file for an upcoming meeting regarding this project reveals larger renders and additional information. The height for both buildings is 185 feet; consisting of 15 floors.
The project also has a new name, One Two East. https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5814/2...d9d2076e_o.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5746/2...3cefa32c_o.jpg |

https://i.imgur.com/QzJ1S3t.png This is my favorite project in the city. I don't talk about it much, but I think it'll be one of the more impressive towers going up right now. The floorplates are the size of city blocks, and it'll be the tallest thing East of I-35 for several years to come. Currently it looks like they're pouring a floor a week. It's pretty much the same height as the neighboring Eleven right now. This should top out in early Fall. |
