Join The City Plan Story Walks, experience planning up close
April 30, 2019 The City Plan team invites Edmontonians to take a walk (and ride a bike) to learn how the plan and its five Big City Moves will help shape Edmonton as it grows to a community of two million people. Join us for one of five walks that will share examples of the goals contained in the Big City Moves: Greener As We Grow - see buildings and areas that help make Edmonton a more sustainable city A Community of Communities - ride a bike through the river valley, downtown and Garneau to learn about active transportation and community connections Catalyze and Converge - listen to the ramblings of a Heritage Planner on downtown heritage, investment and urban design Inclusive and Compassionate - nightwalk through Strathcona and learn how Recover, Edmonton’s Urban Wellness Plan, helps Edmonton become a more inclusive and compassionate city A Rebuildable City - hang out with the Zoning Bylaw Renewal team and see examples of building reuse and learn how zoning can reignite the life of a neighbourhood The walks begin May 3 and take place downtown, 124 Street and Strathcona. Pre-registration is not required to participate in the walks. The Community of Communities bike ride is on June 15 and Eventbrite pre-registration is required for this event.
