Beautiful! But seriously, did they blow their whole budget on renders? I've never seen that many for a new proposal.

C'est Fantastique! Just wish Tour Sans Fins was built...
|
@BuildThemTaller : This project was launched by GROUPAMA, a French insurance company and one of the biggest in Europe. So they're loaded ! ;)
Its status is a little more advanced than "proposed" because GROUPAMA is looking for new headquarters. Also, French oil company TOTAL, is looking for new headquarters as well, their skyscraper has become a bit old by now, and they might choose this tower. Still hesitating between this one and another one under construction. So it might be under construction sooner than expected !! Interesting to note : brexit is bringing huge amounts of workers in France, for example HSBC bank is moving 2000 people from London to its Paris headquarters. So even though TOTAL doesn't choose this tower, it'll get built anyways because more and more companies are moving to Paris. |

Are those solar panels on the facade?

These micro-panels look more spectacular than anything we've had before, though.
I can't wait for more details when construction has begun. And this project appears to be fast, for once. Developer is Groupama. I'm loving them for this, but I also want the name of their glass panel manufacturer to possibly bow to them. Oh... This micro solar thing would be nice. It looks like the beautiful culture of Japan for saving room coming to France in an effective way. Notice local energy producers have been working with African countries on solar energy too. This is all freaking exciting. |

Too bad the main transit hub, the Grande Arche station is somewhat remote.
Something has to be done about this because for now, this is the best spot of the district for views on the central city. At least until Neuilly eventually builds more towers to the other side of the river. I suppose that will happen in our lifetimes. Someone on these forums said the Novotel was doomed to demo. https://c1.staticflickr.com/7/6154/6...02bd0794_b.jpg https://www.flickr.com/photos/jakglenn/6135670599 The grey concrete Lego buildings to the right are leaving anyway. The Hermitage towers should finally sit on their spot someday. But I'd never heard of the Novotel to be torn down too. It would be too old, lost its luster since more recent hotels were built around. We should get something slightly taller (around 100m/300ft) and shinier instead. |

This building is ugly as fuck and way too old looking for La Défense. It has had its time, now it's time for a newer, better building ! |
Here's a latest mid-rise renovation BTW, by Vincent d'Issy-les-Moulineaux.

French Oil Company TOTAL chooses The Link as their new headquarters
It's official ! Construction will begin soon for completion expected in 2022 !
French Oil Company TOTAL chooses The Link as their new headquarters https://www.businessimmo.com/content...u-siege-social 07/27/2017 - 4:01pm After a 6 month dialogue led on three different projects, TOTAL selected The Link as their new headquarters in the heart of the Michelet area in La Defense. A protocol was signed between and TOTAL and GROUPAMA (owner and developper of the project) as a final act before breaking ground at the end of the year. This move will allow TOTAL to concentrate their entire staff in one building (6.500 people). |
I'd work there. Wouldn't get any work done, but I'd work there.

Permits have been validated. Here are new renderings.

Additional renderings
From the huge esplanade, you can see there's still plenty of room for more towers to the side of Puteaux, on the right, that's late on Courbevoie whose density is greater by now.
https://i.ibb.co/yqjvQ49/46610883542-abf432cc4c-k.jpg Going down the esplanade, closer view. https://i.ibb.co/V9w1c67/39698484923-167633e97a-k.jpg Now from a street of Puteaux, off the pedestrian deck. https://i.ibb.co/QCBjLNG/46615815752-c65aa34c4f-k.jpg Old modern building on the left is butt-ugly, clearly needs demo or refurbishment. Hopefully this is built for the 2024 Olympics, so the skyline as seen from the old downtown looks pretty much like this. https://i.ibb.co/55GJWP2/39698483543-2a7148ff25-k.jpg It should be this way by then. That's the view of it tons of visitors will get from Central Paris. Quote:
Quite possibly in China. That's unfair, huh. |
The old building on site is being dismantled. Pictures over here if you're curious.
This photomontage shows what the skyline should look like by 2025, as seen from the Montparnasse tower. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...4f280e49_k.jpg LA DÉFENSE 2025 by Vincent Montcuit, sur Flickr This new tower appears stuck to the right of the Eiffel on the picture, while the other new one at the left end of the cluster is Hekla, currently under construction. I think they add density to it, making it even more compact, but they're not tall enough to make any real difference in height. Supertall needed here. |
