LVDR, these photos are awesome. Imagine a riverwalk wrapped all the way down from rooselvelt up to lake street and connect with the eastway. One can dream.

Park? What park?

Any update on when the sales office might open? I signed up - twice - with not even a response of "thanks for signing up". Just a black hole.

Trying to get back to construction....Have the developers hinted on which tower will be the second to break ground?

I have become incredibly unrealistic about this project. I want it all built NOW, as designed. I mean I REALLY WANT THEM TO BUILD ALL OF THIS NOW! NOW! As Designed!
I have no intention of living there, and it may not end up as terrific as it looks in renderings, but the team behind this, Ralph Johnson especially, have put together something very special. I just love this project. It is a game changer not just for the south Loop, but the city. And I have irrational exuberance about it. |

I love this shot because the 311 S Wacker top looks like it could just be some sort of water or gas storage facility instead of the top of a 900+ foot tall tower. Speaking of which, I always forget of just how tall that building is. If it weren't next to the Willis Tower it would completely dominate almost any other corner in the world!

Pointing out 311 S Wacker was a guilty pleasure of mine when showing the city to out of town visitors. I'd point out how short it looked when compared to the Sears Tower, and then proclaim that it was only a 50 feet shorter than the tallest building in LA (at the time, US Bank Tower). *Cue the oohs and ahhs* Wilshire Grande has taken the steam out of this claim as of late, even though the roof height is technically shorter than both 311 and US Bank. Gorgeous building though. Apologies for going way off topic :) |
