^No. Must be west of the river.

^I'm familiar with those buildings (I live in this neighborhood) but I'm not sure what that crane is for on the south side of Roosevelt.

There’s definitely been work happening on the 78 site this week. I assumed it’s related to third phase of the Wells-Wentworth connector, but the equipment is all in front of the bridge opposite of Roosevelt Collection, not Wells Street. From what I can tell, there’s a crane, a tall vertical drill, and dozens of metal beams laying around. I took this photo on Tuesday but it’s pretty grainy. I heard a loud rhythmic pounding that sounded like foundation drilling this morning.

^ Clearly Amazon changed their mind and it's for HQ2 construction...

Curb lanes of Roosevelt were closed last week for some kind of deck repair, so that seems the most likely explanation. Wells-Wentworth should first involve backhoes, not a crane.
The pounding is pilings being driven at 711 S. Clark. |

OK; looks like that's for Wells-Wentworth after all. Not sure what they need sheet piling for, but maybe they need to put a huge storm sewer under it. In an open field like this, you can usually just excavate without sheet piling.

The 78 Lawsuit
https://www.chicagobusiness.com/comm...p-mega-project
Well Yet another megaproject another lawsuit :yuck: However...….. Our lawsuit is not against this project in any way,” Scandaglia said. “It’s just saying, ‘Hey, remember us? We were here at the outset and that if we had faith in this thing early, we’d get a return in the deal.’” |

Any news on when the 15th St station construction might start?

2022, maybe?

No picture, but the crane looked farther south today.
