Yes - and a connection through the base of WPE

There's a tunnel through WPE from a road under Orleans

The glass manufacturer has finished the first three dozen units of curtain wall and will begin setting them in October. The schedule is 2 floors of units per 7 working days. Expected enclosure for late fall of 2019.

Nice shots, really looking forward to seeing this in the fall. I bet the glass is gonna be slick.

i love the juxtaposition here with the merchandise mart background.

WPE looks positively tiny by comparison.

MM is such a spectacular beast!

^ Agree - nice shot. The Mart is a gem

Construction news alert!

Some interesting developments today. They have now moved on from setting those forms up, because as Harry noted, the floorplans are going to be identical for a while, and now they are setting the screens up.

This thing will definitely be going at a fast pace based off the last two weeks alone

Wow, that’s awesome. That will be like Essex fast if they can pull that off over the course of the whole building. Who is the manufacturer on this one? Have you seen the units?

Harmon is on this project. I have seen pictures of the units (unfortunately I can't share). They are clear with an extremely faint hint of green. They look super sharp.

It just occurred to me that I don't think there's gonna be a single unit with a bad view in this tower. Even the units at the bottom of the tower facing north are gonna have a great view down Orleans St.

^ West views won't be so great once WPS gets built :)

Fortunately, one would have to assume that there wouldn't be a unit with only west facing views, so i'd have to guess that they'll be safe from WPS's massive view blocking

Probably right, considering how narrow the footprint is north to south. In either case, since its a rental tower we won't have to fear any NIMBYs, which is always a plus.

^thanks bonobo, you've got a nice little vantage point there, especially when the big'n starts.

Yep! I'm getting more and more excited about that one.

I only just started looking at the riverwalk more than the building today, and I noticed how the parking garage has openings facing the river. Really hope they go ahead and cover the rest of that up soon. That wouldn't be very pretty

Notyrview Aug 28, 2018 1:43 AM

Oh yeah, that must be for ventilation. I'm sure they'll put a screen on it.

According to the renderings they do a pretty good job of concealing the parking. Then again the renderings of 727 W Madison look good too. I have a feeling this will be a different situation though. Hines is spending top dollar for top quality.
