I’ve driven through this intersection ten thousand times (most recently last night) and I’d have never recognized it had the photo not been captioned. I wouldn’t even know if we were looking east or west, but your second photo clearly shows we’re pointing east. EDIT: I just went back a page and found your image of Los Feliz and Riverside Drive. Just amazing. I like this sign: https://i.imgur.com/qFpqEWF.jpg |

:previous: Thanks HossC. I would imagine that a NLA favorite, the Tam O'Shanter (Est. 1922 - 2980 Los Feliz Blvd. btwn. Royce and Revere) would show up on a wider version of your aerial. I had been hoping to find it from the early street shots.

The only thing the architect needed to do was make sure the bathrooms are properly plumbed. The actual building might have been designed by the architect's son....he's in high school...9th grade. Bottom line.....this architecture style is extremely anti-human. :( |

How have I never heard of this before?? Thanks so much for the fascinating info - or should I say… FVNEM? SVFM FVNEX? SVFX OICVFMNX! I’ll definitely have to go check the club out as soon as I get the chance. |

Note the similar grouping of palm trees as in the vintage photo: https://i.imgur.com/fRNVZ77.jpg - GSV I wish I could find a pre-1985 photo of the Home, taken from the south, so that I could compare the buildings to the one in the old photo. I like to be more certain when I guess at a location. Having said that, I’m unaware of anywhere else one could see palm trees when looking north off of the (former) Sixth Street Bridge. Other wild sports were tried on Catalina besides baseball players cavorting with bears, including motorcycle racing from 1950 through 1958. https://vimeo.com/112249802 https://silodrome.com/wp-content/upl...cycle-Race.jpghttps://silodrome.com/wp-content/upl...cycle-Race.jpg https://silodrome.com/wp-content/upl...cle-Race-3.jpghttps://silodrome.com/wp-content/upl...cle-Race-3.jpg And there were evidently other "organized" sports at the Waikiki club at the Waikiki Hotel.
