I hope he takes another job in the US with a superior that won’t shit all over him and reorg him out of a job when he gets even a little credit for his work.

Busy Bee Jan 23, 2020 9:27 PM

Shameful.

It should be Cuomo the one resigning. The MTA is a State-run agency. For 9 years Cuomo has being Governor and he had let the subway to fall apart into State of Emergency.

Yeah, well. He was just re-elected so...that was the venue to seek that remedy.

Oh god don’t parrot stuff the NYPD PBA says.

Crime on the subway is historically low. Trains getting tagged once in a while is just a fact of life and mostly happens on unsecured layup tracks not the yards.

The MTA just OK’d the hiring of 500 more cops to harass brown skinned fare beaters and stand around drinking coffee. More cops as a jobs program is a bad idea.

Busy Bee Jan 26, 2020 7:02 PM

Amen brother.

Plus if you think the MTA has a graffiti problem you've got to see trains in Europe. There's absolutely no comparison. Its still 1980 over there, its just all on the exterior.

Just as appalling is the fact that it takes over a minute for the train to enter the station. “Rapid” transit?

When a train is graffiti like that its driven at a much slower rate to ensure that if anything else is comprised it won't cause a major accident.

The video needs some Wagner in the background. No doubt somebody on here knows what I'm talking about.

Unless you consider graffiti a crime.

Well, maybe the hundreds of hundreds of pictures I’ve seen (other than Paris metro) are fortuitously timed.

What are they going to arrest the train or do you really think they're patrolling the layups?

mrnyc Feb 11, 2020 11:43 AM

the last run for the r-42 subway cars, the second oldest in the fleet dating from 1969, will be tomorrow/wednesday. hopefully more reliability, but no more front door windows. :(

Article on 42nd Street station renovations. Not mentioned in article, but I believe you will be now able to walk the full length, from Port Authority to Grand Central. The pedestrian tunnels already exist.

The MTA is spending $750 million to overhaul 42nd Street’s subway stations
