^Well, it's kind of hard to put your pants on when you already put your shoes on.

On another note, that pair of pants is taking forever to put on. (Sorry, couldn't resist)

I think you're thinking of the Ping An in Shenzen? I see quite the resemblance myself.

^There's some similarity there.

Site prep continues-looks like slurry basins?

Wow, I have to say the number 2 proposal is simply stunning. I agree to loose the pool but wow! It is a shame it wasn't selected.

So we can say that Suzhou has forever been pantsed?

Take away the swimming pool and this is a fantastic looking structure.

I'm not exactly enamored of this trend towards buildings that look like giant hypodermic needles. The Ping An is enough.

Is it just me or that floor plan design resemblances old World Trade Center throughout the tower?? Open multipurpose space in the surrounding and elevator shaft and stairwell being packed into the core.

scalziand Feb 12, 2014 5:27 PM

Yes, but that's just how the majority supertall office buildings are designed.

Caught this model of the crown and cladding in the documentary on Shanghai Tower that aired this week.

Maybe I'm being waggish, but there's a Chinese Restaurant being very specifically included in an office building in China?:koko: Maybe it's like Chili's serving American cuisine in Plano.

mt_climber13 May 4, 2014 5:49 PM

Wow, great looking building, and another super duper tall going up in an unknown (at least internationally) Chinese boom town.

America can't even try to keep up.
