Updated roadmap on theperelman.org website: https://www.theperelman.org/construction-milestones
Earlier details are on the website, but here is the latest information starting from when the PAC could first begin construction and was named after Ronald Perelman: Quote:

Video from Sciame Construction instagram post of construction progress in July 2022, mostly showing interior work being done, but also a view in the beginning of video of the construction on the east side of the PAC. Also includes a parting shot that pans up, looking west at the memorial, PAC and One WTC from the Oculus Plaza.

This image from TKDV on New York YIMBY forums shows that work continues on the installation of black granite cladding at the base. The cladding still doesn't appear to have been installed along the sloping southern base of the PAC.
Some interesting developments are hardscape work progressing to the west of the PAC (with possible sidewalk construction beginning along Fulton Street just to the east of the open part of the east plaza) and work along the eastern edge of the building in dredging out the ground, with what looks like the placement of pavers to the northeast of the PAC. The garage entrances on the north side of the building are probably built out. One last change appears to be some vegetation or planters just to the south of the southeastern corner of the PAC, near the remaining construction trailers. https://aws1.discourse-cdn.com/busin...ee322f8f0.jpeg It is not certain if Greenwich Street will be fully dredged out, widened to its final length and paved over by the time the PAC is complete, or if it will take until the completion of 2 WTC for that to happen. Nevertheless, once the PAC is complete, Vesey Street and the portion of Fulton Street west of Greenwich Street will probably be fully open, unlike now. |
New video with time lapse of construction from Summer 2019 to the end of Spring 2022 on the webpage https://www.theperelman.org/construction-milestones
The video ends with a render of what the site will look like (absent 2 WTC) when the PAC is expected to open in 2023. The render shows the black granite base and an American flag in between One WTC and the PAC on the eastern plaza, just like in the original render of the finished PAC that was released in September 2016. However unlike that video, there is no monolith sculpture near the southwest PAC, which was removed in the renders released in July 2021 https://newyorkyimby.com/2021/07/new...manhattan.html The render at the end of this video is different from this render (source: https://newyorkyimby.com/2021/07/new...manhattan.html), which didn't have a flag in between One WTC and the PAC. |

https://newyorkyimby.com/wp-content/...08-scaled.jpeg It will be even more imposing if 2 WTC is built. While the revised design released in July 2021 that resulted in the black granite base was upsetting to some, it has provided a nice contrast from the marble facade that wouldn't have been accomplished otherwise. https://newyorkyimby.com/wp-content/...ge00080-1.jpeg |

An article from last month on the design and installation of the stone-glass facade of the PAC: https://www.glassonweb.com/article/c...textured-stone
From the construction milestones details on https://www.theperelman.org/construction-milestones, the information still shows the final phase of construction as taking place in Q1 2023. Given delays in completion other projects at the site (such as St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church), it's possible the PAC will open later than that, such as in the summer of 2023, unless construction starts speeding up soon. Right now it appears interior work is still finishing up. The only noticeable new development on the outside of the PAC appears to be what looks like the beginnings of an awning, as this post from skyscrapercity forum suggests. |

This render better matches the texture of the black granite base. Additionally, the same air vent design currently seen on the west side of the PAC base Quote:
Compare with the Luxigon render that was shown in this New York YIMBY article from July 2021: Most obvious difference is that the honey locust trees near the southeastern/eastern side of the PAC are not present in the archpaper render. Whether this is simply because the artist of the archpaper render missed this detail or if the trees are no longer planned to be planted there is not certain. However, looking at construction cams of the site, (what will eventually be) the sidewalk area just east of the PAC looks very narrow and highly shaded (as the archpaper render from earlier this year also shows). So perhaps the trees in the earlier Luxigon render were just for decorative purposes. It is interesting to note that there were also no trees on the east side of the PAC in the earlier REX and Davis Brody renders from this angle (when the base was still planned to be composed of marble and not black granite). Also, there is no flag pole seen on the east plaza of One WTC in the REX, Davis Brody Bond, Luxigon nor archpaper renders, while it was present in one of the video renders currently available on the Perelman website: Quote:
This instagram post from @wtc confirms that much of the work being done on the PAC is still for the interior, but should be close to completion at the end of this year. |
I think you're looking into things much too extremely. Renders are used as a tool to visualize what is possible, not what is final or actually planned.
The Luxigon render with the trees is the accurate render atm because it also shows the transit elevator behind the trees that is located on the east side of the building. All variant plans of the complex also always show trees lining Greenwich St. The venting in the base is also still visible in this render. The sidewalk is no less wider than the East sidewalk of Greenwich St in front of 3 & 4 WTC, the latter which has trees planted in front of it. I'd also point out that the sun moves, the renders are taken from after noon when it is in the west, the east face of the building is lit up before then and receives perfect sunlight so I thought that was a strange reasoning to use as to there not being any trees in one of the renders. The flagpole in the video is probably for show. Construction at/of 2 WTC wouldn't affect anything in the timeline or progression of this project. You can't use the situation with One WTC because there is a shared plaza between them not a street as there is with 2 WTC. The east entrance and plaza at One WTC couldn't be completed until the temporary North entrance to the VSC was removed and when it was removed, Covid stunted further progress on the plaza until a few months later in 2020. |

As a side note, it appears very likely there will at least be trees planted on the west side of the PAC. The construction cam currently shows what appear to be raised rectangular beds on the east plaza just west of the PAC, and what looks like imprints for trees in an alternating zig zag pattern in those beds, similar to the pattern in front of One WTC. Cams showing that triangular area to the southeast of the PAC has been paved over. Wooden boards on elevated concrete bed to the west of the PAC have been removed. At first it appeared like they were beds for soil, but it now appears they were just temporary wooden boards laying around. The very western portion in the closed off construction area of what will be the sidewalk along Fulton Street might soon start being paved over. It looks very similar to the section of sidewalk adjacent to Fulton Street for the East Plaza entrance in early 2021 (January to February), prior to that section being paved over in the spring of 2021 (April to May). |

The north side base of the PAC (the side with the outdoor terrace) has a different material for the exterior than the other base sides, which have the usual black granite. The fencing installation for the outdoor terrace also has metal bars rather than the glass barriers previously shown in renders. Meanwhile, it looks like much of the plaza to the west of the PAC still remains to be paved over. While the slanted section of the south facing entrance has also yet to have the black granite exterior installed, black granite installation appears to be progressing around the ADA accessible entrance on the southwest side of the PAC. |
Concrete pour took place on southwest side of the PAC yesterday. Pavement of section of Fulton Street sidewalk just to the east of One WTC looks like it might commence soon.
More bracing near the southwest stairway entry has been set up, as well as bracing around the ADA accessible entrance. Street grid is not yet taking shape, but there is this bit of news indicating the soft opening mentioned on theperelman.org might be starting in late February 2023: https://www.broadwayworld.com/equity...TER-2022-27188 Relevant part: Quote:
