Your pet!
I love animals, especially cats, please share your photos of your pets...here is mine:
This is my 11 year old cat named Shaika, she's a bitter old girl with a peculiar sense of humour and is a picky eater but she's the best! I'll take some more pics of shaika imminently! http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/8605/shaikagw4.jpg Her lifestyle consists of lounging around in her closet where she spends up to 12 hours strait and eating and watching TV. Once she was sleeping in her closet and a stray cat broke into the home and ate her food, Shaika never noticed but became quite alarmed later when she saw her food bowl empty and became quite agitated when she smelled the other cat's odor in her ever shrinking territoy! Stupid thing! |
Post pics of my cat? You don't have to ask twice! His name is Marcus, and he's getting old (14 years). I wish he could stay around forever, but unfortunately that's not the deal with pets...

Cute pictures. Pets? Yeah, I have a few.
This is Sophie, my baby. She's a pure bred miniature poodle. She's 5 years old. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...tsSophie96.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...tsSophie95.jpg This is Lacy. She's 9. Lacy is Sophie's aunt. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...100700EDIT.jpg :) http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...100710EDIT.jpg This is Jules. I'm not exactly sure how old he is. He was a stray at an apartment complex. When I first got him he was real shy around the dogs. He wasn't exactly sure about his new home. I'd walk in the bedroom and he'd be on my bed and would jump up like he thought he was in trouble. Now though he pretty much sleeps on my bed all day. He also lounges around the Lego table. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...080054EDIT.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...070141EDIT.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...y/P1020358.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...y/P1020351.jpg This is my sister's new cat Jodie. He's about 8 months old. He is most definitely still a kitten. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...160596EDIT.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...160597EDIT.jpg And this is Mittens. He passed away a year a half ago. He was 13. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../Mittens95.jpg Mittens hanging out with my brother's Dalmatian Penny. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../Mittens99.jpg |
Maple will be 8 this year. She couldn't make the move with me right away since my temporary place says no to pets. But, we'll be back together in two or three months when we get our new place and she can make the trip. She's pretty well travelled having been born in Aylmer, QC and having lived in Ottawa, Regina, Edmonton and St. Louis.
http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...eral/maple.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...l/4ad5268c.jpg I really like that one with Marcus stretching out the window olga. Rico, I heard from some extended family in Japan that tortoise-coloured cats are always female. Does anyone have a male tortoise-coloured cat? I've only known four so far and they were all female. |
This is Nessie, a 10 years long haired German Shepherd, too nice to really guard home
http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/1b15f31e.jpg She'll fall asleep with her toy http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/a1044b22.jpghttp://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/58bef785.jpg We should alert animal protection organization!!! http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/55030275.jpg ooooohhhhhh the big bad wolf! http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/ff480a4f.jpg |
^ Haha, awesome dog. My grandparents had a huge black German Shepard named Jet when I was little. I used to climb all over that dog. He was the sweetest most docile dog. I remember one story that my grandparents told me. My grandpa had let him in one night. He was asleep in their bedroom in the corner. Well anyway, my grandma walked in the room just to pick something up so she left the light off. As she walked in she heard this deep moan. lol They said it scared my grandma to pieces at first.

Sophie and Lacie are so cute, we had a poodle named Sally just before having Nessie, when she passed away she was 15 years old and even if I prefer bigger ones, she was so smart and funny, very sweet too but a better guard dog!! Nessie is nice to everyone, even to the postman!
This is Sally: http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/c42eeb1f.jpg and with her "wintercoat" http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/6f29e224.jpg And to finish my first dog Warum who unfortunately passed away at only 5 years old, sweet too, here with my 2 or 3 years old brother, I was 7 or 8: http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/4fce6b12.jpg I love so much dogs, if you used to talk to them since they're little they can understand everything. Your cats are cute too but I never had cat so I didn't know how is it to live with one. |
Jodie in a bowl.

My step-pugs (my partner's pugs from a former relationship, and yes custody is exchanged once a week):
Emma (aka Sweet Pea, PiggyPug, DrunkyPug, Stomach, EmmaEffer) 8 years old - she's the mellow one, but also the one with an appetite. She's not fat, though - she's big boned! I wouldn't be at all surprised to come home and see her sitting upright on the couch with a beer in one paw and a remote in the other: http://www.clevelandskyscrapers.com/emma0807.jpg Chloe (aka Gurglehead, KissyChloe, Fu Dog, Alien Face Hugger (see the movie below), 7 years old - she's more excitable, prone to get feisty with larger dogs (that's always fun), but she absolutely loves people. http://www.clevelandskyscrapers.com/chloe0807.jpg Doing what they do best - other than eating: http://www.clevelandskyscrapers.com/...oe052806_1.jpg This is the result of teaching a dog to give "kisses" instead of biting when they're a puppy. Apparently Emma had a tendency to nip at peoples' fingers (told you she has an appetite), so when Chloe came along, my partner trained her to play nice and give "kisses". This shows the result, Chloe the kissing bandit or Alien Face Hugger, take your pick (12MB movie): http://www.clevelandskyscrapers.com/pugattack.MOV Oh, and Chloe gets indignant if she doesn't get to give me kisses within 20 minutes of getting home. |
I'll post some pictures of my cat and dog tonight (maybe some of my dad's dog and cats too. My cat hobbes is an 18 year old maine coon, we got him when I was a few weeks (or maybe months) old, he's an outdoor cat, but he has a little house and a heater on our front veranda. My dog is six and is a beishon (butchered, I know) shiztu (butchered again?).

My new puppy Baron. He's a 5.5 month old Doberman.

This is Zoe, our 1.5 year old Chihuahua-Yorkie. My wife wanted a dog and I was a little skeptical, but since we bought her in Sep. 06. So things changed pretty quickly, I have become very attached to her now. So much so, that I would say buying her was one of the best decisions we (I) have ever made. :haha:
Anyways, she's very quite (not a yappy dog at all), and warm/friendly to anyone she meets. It's hilarious all the little things she's developed since we got her. For one, every time someone calls us on iChat, she recognizes the ring sound and runs to the office to jump on our lap to 'video chat' with whoever is calling. Anyways.. here is our 'kid'! http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/7...okerzg6.th.jpg http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/3531/img041pl3.th.jpg http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/4...g048wb5.th.jpg This was me calling on iChat over Christmas. My sister had her laptop in front of Zoe, and I was talking from the office. She doesn't quite 'get it', but loves when people talk to her via iChat.... she whines back at them. http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/4...tzoegy3.th.png http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/9160/img057ra9.th.jpg |
I forgot all about this thread last night, so here are my pets.
My mop/dog. http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/907/pc120852bd1.jpg The old boy. http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/2507/p6011013eq6.jpg The dog in her tent. http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/3383/p5221006pi5.jpg He's still got some play in him. http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/7195/p5150987ku8.jpg That's her spot, she was sleeping until I called her for the picture. http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/4435/p5050980ly6.jpg I might post more later, I'll try to find some of my dad's dog. |

Here's more of the original cat from the planet hell! Shaika or as I like to call her "la bete" (The beast)!

Lol, that first one is great.

^ That's an awesome dog! So cute.

|
Your cat and dog seem to get along just fine, that's nice :)
|
They are all so cute..
Here is our old family dog. He passed away at age 13 two years ago. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...2-2234_IMG.jpg Junior is two years old now. He loves tennis ball. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...i/IMG_2426.jpg When he was young: http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...auchyi/001.jpg His favorite exercise in the world: sleep, nap, .. .you name it. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...auchyi/014.jpg |
^Beautiful animal! I wonder what animals do when they sleep. Do they have dreams? Do they think or look forward to anything or are they stuck in some permanent "now"?
All these animals are great! I especially enjoy your cat Kevinfromtexas, this photo is particularly sweet: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...160735EDIT.jpg |

And I'm pretty sure that at least dogs look forward to things. And I'm not just talking about dinner either. ;) I'll go for a walk with my dogs in my neighborhood. My dog Sophie LOVES to go for walks. I'll take the lead out of my dresser to put on her and she goes nuts and gets all excited wagging her tail so hard her whole body shakes. And if I'm not quick enough to get it on her and get to the door then she whimpers in protest. |

HeeHee. You all know by now that you don't have to twist my arm to show pics of my boy, either. Buddy (aka Monkey Butt, Captain Demando, Fat Boy, Sporty, Sonny Boy, Cow Dog) was rescued by Virginia and her late mother from the pound in April, 2004 as a companion dog for her mother who had terminal cancer and wanted company in her last days. She passed away in March of '05 and Buddy made her last days quite enjoyable. Virginia took over the boy after that (but he does call me dad). He's somewhere between eight and ten years old, not sure and probably 80% deaf. And, oh yeah, he's also the most spoiled dog EVER! Virginia and Buddy watch the Christmas parade. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...i/DCP_0923.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8-R1-011-4.jpg With his neurotic Yorkie girlfriend. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8-R1-013-5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...R1-028-12A.jpg |

|
^ Me too! If I'm crazy for having a lot of animals and loving them, then well, I'm crazy.
I had a little scare with my dog yesterday. Sophie, my miniature poodle got a hold of a stuffed toy that my other dog had chewed up. Anyway, she swallowed a piece of it sometime either late Saturday or early Sunday. It was almost the size of a hot dog. She barfed half of it up Sunday morning. The other half though stayed put. Yesterday she was not herself at all. No tail wagging, not running around and having fun. She wouldn't eat or drink and didn't pee or poop last night. I was so worried. Today we were going to take her to the vet if she wasn't better. But this morning I got up and she was feeling fine. I took her outside and let her go poop and she got it out with no trouble. And she's doing fine now, back to her old self. You really have to watch dogs like you do with kids. |
Pete, 4-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever (AKA "Chessie"), at the family place on Lake Huron (Cedarville, Michigan UP):

Kaiser
|
HaHa! Kaiser just made my day a little better.
Glad Sophie is doing better, Kevin. I would not have slept very well. What's really scary is when they run off. My boy, Buddy, did that last April, 17. (a day I will never forget) when the dogsitter let him out at noon and didn't watch him. She didn't let us know until 5 hours later when we got home from work. It was in a area of town with many busy streets and other dogs (he's pretty small and NOT a fighter). Me and Virginia looked for another 5 hours and I knew in my heart that he was gone for good. What a horrible feeling. Every awful scenario possible went through my head. But I had to try and get some sleep since I had to get up at 4:00AM......Anyway as it turned out, the whole time we're looking for him and worrying ourselves sick, Buddy was living it up a few blocks down. At around 10:00 PM, as Virginia was hanging a "Lost Dog" sign, she saw a "Found Dog" sign. She called the number and when she got to this guys house, there was Buddy, sitting on his couch eating Kibbles and Bits. The guy who found him said he saw him sitting on the corner looking lost at 12:30 PM so he was on the streets for only a half hour after all. That was the dogsitters last day with us. |
This is my parent's dog, Dazey but I'm living here for the next few month so she's mine, too!

^ Ha, that pose is hilarious, with the "arms" hanging. I've never seen my cat lie like that. He's 12, I hope he'll live to 18 or longer!
|
My cat's 18 but he doesn't look as good as yours. I think he has a tumor on his lip, I don't know how he hangs in there, he's even an outdoor cat.

Here's Gus, my 13 y/o English Setter. Such a cool dog.

Ha, my dad's dog's name's gus. (hey, three 'ses in a row)

Man, rockyi. Glad you found Buddy. I can't imagine losing Sophie. She usually never steps outside of my shadow, but I still worry about things like that. We live on a semi busy street. It's an undivided residential street, but since it's one of the more direct streets to the main east/west street in South Austin (in this area), our street does get a bit busy at peak times. At least two dogs have been run over on our street before and a cat was run over last month.
