Great news!
Wasn't it the same ownership group (The Capitol and Lancaster's)? I enjoyed the unique vibe The Capitol offered, but unfortunately it never seemed to be busy.

Yes, same ownership.

Pretty sure that's just a photoshop job.

Nope, they've had their sign up for a week or so!

Glad they kept the marquee inspired signage, though I did like the capitol font on the white background. :(

(Lancaster's is good though, so absolutely no complaints about them opening a downtown location)

If it's not a photoshop job than it's pretty ugly.

I mean, yeah, it's terrible, terrible sign. But from what some employees have said about the company, terrible is par of the course.

Not sure if this was mentioned previously - but I see the rezoning was approved to accommodate some sort of restaurant at 1378 Hamilton Street:

Really nice to see that side of downtown start to pick up a little bit.

Agreed. It took some time, but that building has become a beacon of interesting local retailers. Exactly the type of spaces and destinations that the downtown hopefully continues to attract.

This is the building. It's a good spot, nice old red brick building across for YQR market and warehouse brewery.

According to the plans, 1378 Hamilton was the Weston Bakeries Garage. I love the landscaping.

Similar to how some coffee places are more expensive than Tim's or Robins or how you can get a burger for a few bucks at McDs vs $10+ at places like 5 Guys or Fuddruckers...

It's a small local business that's doing well, so good for them if they've found a niche market.
