Ralph Lerner's ideas for Winston-Salem, presented in 2001 to city council for the New Century Plan, included a 50-60 story skyscraper with a park for the area between Second and Fourth Streets. This "will make downtown a comfortable, green, pedestrian environment while accommodating significant development," Lerner said. The Park, called Civic Plaza, is currently moving foward.
