WATERFORD, Ontario
A very quaint town located along the banks of Nanticoke Creek, Waterford is off the main highways that pass through the area. What is very intriguing about Waterford is the relationship between the road width of the main street and the building massing. Although most of the buildings appear to be only 2 storeys in height, a few have a height almost equivalent to a 3 storey structure. The resulting canyon effect, unexpected for such a small community, and the fact that the main commercial street is not a major throughfare, actually make the main street a very pleasant experience. At the end of the main commercial strip is a renovated factory turned antique shopping mall.
