Trout Creek is a facinatingly rundown little hamlet. Looking at a map one might conclude the town was doomed when Highway 11 by-passed around the settlement rather than running straight through it. Along the roadway into the center of the hamlet we see long abandoned gas stations and abandoned light-industrial lands. Even a local restaurant at the main intersection has closed shop. All that remains is the general store, some derelict (yet inhabited) buildings, some well-maintained homes and what was once a 3 storey hotel. The place has an eerie ghosttown in the making feel. |
