Timmins is a major resource centre in northern Ontario that relies on lumber and mining. The town is also the home of Shania Twain. The downtown area is fairly healthy although the vacancy rate is higher than average. There are flowerbeds throughout downtown and the main street is one of the few in Ontario to be paved with brick. Oddly enough, brick is not a major building material in Timmins, especially in residential areas. |
