Though its population is a mere 13,225 residents, Thorold is identified by the province as a city. Growing from its location originally right along side the Old Welland Canal (which has since been buried), Thorold experienced much growth early on. Hence we see a generally nice collection of older buildings including a gorgeous old fire hall and bank building. |
