Morrisburg, a victim of the St. Lawrence Seaway Project, once had a waterfront downtown. Demolished to make way for the expansion of the St. Lawrence in the late 1950s, the original downtown is now underwater. Unfortunately, the replacement commercial core is less than stellar. Some of the original century homes in the town remain and are the only buildings left with any architectural merit. |
