MARMORA, Ontario
The self-proclaimed birthplace of Ontario's mining industry, the first mines in Marmora began operation in 1821. Today, it has become a recreation and tourist centre, especially in summer. The main street has an interesting mix of stores for tourists and local residents alike. Architecturally, Marmora has some beautifully colourful ornate structures that give the village a historic charm.
