KINGSTON, Ontario
Kingston, the Limestone City, is both beautiful and historic. It was briefly the capital of the Province of Canada and was one of its most important cities until the mid 1800s. Kingston is known for its limestone buildings, the most impressive of which feature ionic columns, central domes and strict symmetry in the Classical Revival style.

The heart of Kingston is Princess Street, one of the busiest main streets in Ontario and a prime shopping area. Kingston's harbour is lined with condos and hotels, some of which are between the street and the water thus forming somewhat of a barrier. Kingston is home to Queen's University, Royal Military College, Fort Henry, CFB Kingston, and the Kingston Penitentiary.
