Cornwall is an industrial city in eastern Ontario and has a rich history as a shipping centre. The city feels like it was
expected to become much more important that it became. A shipping canal ran beside
the St. Lawrence River until the 1950s when it was replaced by the St. Lawrence Seaway. The canal is now a large
and popular riverfront park.
