BUFFALO, New York |

Buffalo, once a proud city that rivalled Toronto for dominance of the eastern Great Lakes, has since the 1950s shrunk to half its peak population. Sprawling suburbs, regional malls, and white flight have taken an enormous toll on downtown Buffalo. However, to dismiss the city architecturally is a mistake. The works of Louis Sullivan, Frank Lloyd Wright, Albert Kahn, and many other prominent architects dot the city. Much of the city was laid out by master landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. In this gallery, we present the Buffalo skyline as seen from the Canadian side of the Niagara River in Fort Erie. |
