Barry's Bay has a prominent and well-preserved railway history. More recent is the town's place in aviation history. The CF-105 Avro Arrow's chief
test pilot, Janusz Zurakowski, settled in Barry's Bay where he operated a lodge for over 40 years. A park built in his honour features a scale model
of an Avro Arrow.
