"Lampman House, Central Santa Monica Ca" [1915] (I'm not sure what the seller means by 'central' Santa Monica)

found on ebay quite awhile ago

It's a great pic even without the address.

(obviously it's 85 something...unless that's the neighbor's mail box)

It looks like the Bow & Arrow may have been connected with the Wm Tell Motel and Apartments a few doors down. This matchbook is dated as 1950s by the seller.

ScottyB, that 'mystery' movie set photo has intrigued me for quite some time.
(if I remember correctly, BRR posted it a couple months back) I tried to figure out the location then but I kept hitting 'road blocks'.

In 1923 Mr. Horton appeared in an early version of 'Ruggles of Red Gap' (which filmed on location in Eureka California).
-but there was something in my findings that led me to believe this wasn't a photo from that production) I can't remember why.

These two attractive people on the left also caught my eye.

To me the man looks like a boxer. (1920s boxers frequently showed up on film)
Does he look familiar to anyone? ....does she?

The young lady looks somewhat familiar (Mary Miles Minter?) & for some reason I keep thinking the mustached actor might be a woman in drag.

...there's also a 'priest' in the photo.

doing something priest-like(?) with his hands.

One last thing; judging by the various costumes, do you think it's possible the actors are from different movies productions?
(which would throw the location back to a studio lot)

yes, that's who I was looking at. Old Hollywood characters are not my strong suit! Sorry for the repost, but the photo certainly does have some interesting elements.

I thought the Airport Trailer Park might be the one shown below. (seen in the early days of the thread)

But the name of this trailer park was the Olympic Trailer Court....also in Santa Monica.

Not my area of expertise (as if I have one) but my understanding is the placard is the route placard and describes the major streets, avenues and boulevards to be traversed by this car. Hence one can see this car will ultimately course along Sunset until it reaches the fork with Hollywood Boulevard (at about Hillhurst) where it will continue on Hollywood Boulevard to N Gardner Street. I think the placard would then be changed to describe the car continuing to the WeHo yard. But, I suppose it's possible the car would reverse course and return to 5th and Hill Streets by the same route. I'm prepared to be corrected by someone with more insight into the local rail business.

Surprisingly the building is owned by Roman Catholic Archibishop Of Los Angeles. ( it's next door to the St. Philomena Church and Convent )
