I have seen a lot of skylines in pictures and in person and you guys are right. It is hard to put a finger on, but I think there are a couple factors at work. The skyline looks very different from a lot of angles due the larger buildings near the water, increasing skyline on south side of the river / Rainey St., density around capital of mid rise buildings and increasing density of mid-high rise buildings around the 40 acres.

Also, there is a almost tropical city / clean vibe because of the sky color, water, and blue glass. Downtown has a fairly repeating theme of dark browns/stone work and blue glass and it adds to a very aesthetically pleasing look that is hard to look away.

Check this out. Ice melting off of KVUE's tv tower this morning. Their camera is mounted 900 to 950 feet up according to the station. Anyway, the freeze line last night was at 500 feet, so any precipitation above that elevation was frozen. The tower itself is 1,269 feet
tall.

If you play it in full screen and HD mode, you can get a nice big screen shot of it.

I did one here with their name up there, but you can either save this or do your own with or without. I just thought it was really neat.

Try uploading it to www.imgur.com and posting the link here between the [IMG] [ /IMG] tags.

Cool pic.

When you copied the link from imgur, it probably already had the IMG tags on it. In that case, you don't have to add your own. That's why there are extra ones in your post on either side of the photo.

3:30pm Riverside and S 1st. notice the lack of traffic. for my money, we live in the easiest big city to get around in.....I'm in it every day (not at 5pm, holiday's and road work notwithstanding), with little problem.
