$16.2 million. I'm not a big property developer, but that doesn't seem too outrageous compared to the cost of the other new builds going up. IIRC they were going to spend something like 60 or 80 mil when all said and done??

just wanting to confirm we still don't have a rendering of the full building right? Have seen bits and pieces and can start to kind of put it together but wish could see like a full building render.

No full render.

You can pretty much figure it out. The brick remaining will stay. Add in dark glazing for the empty parts. Not sure if they will cover the building ends with some type of cladding.

Agree, it's cool. I was wondering in the beginning if they'd keep that weird heat wall thing but they took it off to expose the pattern.

You can see the two story apartment changes in this pic. Duct work going in on the lower floors.

I assumed they were going to inset the windows and use the existing structure for the balconies. But it looks like they'll be tacking them onto the outside. Which actually lines up with the one render. Not what I expected, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they make it work.

Are there still going to be balconies is the question? I don't see anything that looks like a door in the glazing that has been finished. The render show balconies built out on some type of concrete structure, which is nowhere to be found at this point.

Hmm good question. The original render does show balconies on the end part that is already glazed (and yes, no doors). So either they just cut them off corner units, or maybe it's not happening at all?

They do appear to be leaving gaps for exits on the inner ones, but yeah, not on the end units.

Also appears to be some openings notched out of the brick, possibly for structural connection. Thanks for the photo.

You're right, and they're in the right position vertically. Also if you look at the render, the inner balconies each extend to the halfway point of the brick, so that would be bang on with those cut outs.

I passed a homeless man sleeping on the sidewalk at the corner of Smith & York on my commute to work recently. Talk about driving home the politics of abandoning social housing.
