What is the large white stone building in the foreground of the above pics? Where is it located?

I think that is the main building of Regents School of Austin and this photo is taken from south of Southwest Parkway (in the foreground).

That's an impressive building. They must be rolling in money.

Yeah, that's from one of the garages at the AMD campus on Southwest Parkway & Rialto Boulevard.

I know it's just because of the focal length of the lens causing this effect, but those photos sure do make it seem like Barton Creek Mall is the largest mall in the world...

I was stuck in traffic on 35 this afternoon and got real good look at the new Marriott. It really does stand out from all the boring blue glass buildings nearby. It is a nice looking building and will probably age well.

Agreed. The footprint of the building compared to the height, and what it will have, makes me think this would fit well in almost any city's skyline. It wouldn't make any waves, but I'd easily believe that this design could be used for a Marriott in Chicago too.

Yeah, looks like they're about 95% done now, just doing the interior finish outs, finishing touches on the exterior, then doing the landscaping. I'd say that's an 8-month project, but this has been going pretty quickly. Maybe opening August of this year? Or to give them a good bit of breathing room, opening before ACL weekend(s)?

I believe that they have previously stated they plan to open in August.

August is their target, at last check. And they're on target, from what I hear.

This turned out very well.
Still not a huge fan of the scattered & staggered windows effect, but it's muted here and the colors work well. (I just don't think the whole scattered/staggered trend is going to age well)
