Wooo! This makes me so happy. That apartment complex is dated and out-of-place. I'm sure they could get a pretty penny for that property.

Its a very smart thing for those CONDO owners to do. If they can get a collective higher price that they could individually.... what the hell.
What would such is if you were in the 20% that do not want to sell and you were
forced to sell your home. Suck big time.
That is a really some beatiful property in there

^^ Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It's a mess if 20% are adamant about not selling. It could get ugly. That said, I do think that piece of land can be better utilized...but I'm not one of those condo owners.

There's actually quite a few substantial projects that have either just started or are in the process of starting over the next 3-months. Looking forward to the next wave of cranes!

I sure hope they're planning some creative way to light up that concrete spine up the side of the Hotel Van Zandt. I think a line of blue LEDs would look really great running up the spine all the way to the top of the concrete blade/slab on the roof.

Yea we should keep this thread going like we used to. We've talked about this before but not everyone goes into the sub-forums to follow what's going on. This is a good thread to consolidate everything into one. I'll try to add things as I run across them and will start to take pictures now that the weather is nice.

5 towers. From the photograph of the model in the link it looks like three of the towers are at least 400 feet tall while one of them might be pushing 500 feet. It's kind of hard to tell.

Central Health reveals plans for Brackenridge
Proposal includes health-centered public market

By Kara NuzbackOctober 26, 2015

With the Medical District to the east and the Innovation Zone to the west, Central Health plans to redevelop the University Medical Center Brackenridge campus into a hub of healthy activity.

Preliminary plans for the Brackenridge redevelopment include realigning Red River Street and creating an open-air public market.

Plans are also in the works to create a pedestrian market in the center of the campus with food vendors and retail space.

There's at least 18 under construction now with 7 more that are underway (site prep). Plus there's at least 27 more that are proposed (that we know of) that haven't started yet.

So there's 55 more high rises in the works for Austin in various stages of development. Considering that at the moment we only have around 170 completed high rises, to have 50 more in development is quite a lot.
