You can published thousands and thousands of pictures from out-of-Canada cities to prove how superior the rest of the world is compare to us. But that was not the point of this thread.

you're right — it's not the point of your thread. rome picture removed.

but both "thousands" and "to prove how superior the rest of the world is compare to us" are inaccurate. i'm a canadian living abroad and most of my ssp time is spent in the canada forum, so i share pics from where i am.

i hardly think threads like this one would convince anyone that canada is somehow lagging compared to where i am.

anyway, this has been a great thread and i do not want to derail it. more canadian apartment blocks, please!

Flar, the Winnipeg "apartment buildings or old hotels" are (1) the Ambassador Apartments (1909), of which I showed a "detail" shot and (2) the Peck Building (1893) which is and always has been a commercial/warehouse building (although it was bought by the Church of Scientology a few years ago - I'm not sure what building class it would fall in once they've done whatever they're going to do with it).

I almost never go to Westmount/NDG/Mtl West. It´s like this big chunk of the city that feels like somewhere else than my own town. Montreal's stock is even more impressive than I thought.

It was not designed as an apartment building originally, so it doesn't really count if we want to be purist about it.

If that were the front and back of the same building, I'm moving.
Well, what a coincidence: I also lived here for two years (I mentioned up-thread that I spent two years in another apartment captured by flar):

It was a pretty groovy place, actually. The area isn't bad, though it's not as funky as it could have been. It's a little street called "Charles Street," just south of city hall.

I passed by this place when I was visiting Hamilton a couple days ago! (and probably at least a few of the others Flar posted)
