Are there any plans to cover any of the sunken portions in the future, as was originally proposed, or is it going to stay this way indefinitely?

I think you are mistaking the parkway with the failed proposed Green Link project that did not get chosen mainly due to the high cost. The Herb Grey Parkway (formerly the Windsor-Essex Parkway) was never intended to be fully covered.

I drove the entire length in both directions too and it is really impressive. It does feel so "big city" with the tunnels and the ramps and even the signage.

Now if we could just get the EC Row Expwy up to par we'll be all set. I like how Mayor Dilkens is pressuring Wynne to make EC Row a provincial highway (it's not fair that Windsor has to continue maintaining it when so many of its users are from neighbouring towns).

Hey, at least you have a highway for local traffic!

I would assume the part of the E.C. Row that parallels the new 401 extension will be MTO's responsibility. That knocks off a chunk that the city has to maintain.

I agree about EC Row, it's a commuter route for both Lasalle and Tecumseh, yet we the city of Windsor taxpayers are the only ones footing the bill. Either upload the expressway to the Province, or amalgamate Tecumseh and Lasalle with Windsor already!

At some point there's going to have to be an annexation among the 3 municipalities (despite the resistance of the suburbs). It makes no sense economically to continue going like we're going without any type of regional transit or sharing of road maintenance.

True, but the whole length of it badly needs to be brought up to provincial standards both in terms of safety and signage.

The signage on the EC Row is terrible. It badly needs to be upgraded to proper MTO signage.

In my opinion, all municipal expressways in the province (save Burlington Street) should fall within the jurisdiction of the province.

Agreed for the most part. Top priorities should be the Gardiner Expressway, DVP, Ottawa Road 174, and the EC Row. Not so sure about Allen Road or even London's Highbury Ave.

^ It was apparently an older woman who accidentally ended up in the wrong lane because of the construction and then just kept going for some reason....for 16km.

Thanks for the photos, I am curious when they will open the last eastbound ramp to Hwy 3 (future exit 7 I think). They were paving it when I was there a few weeks ago. Maybe they are waiting until they have more of the existing highway 3 work done.

Anyone know when the phase between the E.C. Row Expressway and the Ojibway Parkway opens? Before the snow falls or does it still have some more work do be done next year?
