The picture really gives perspective as to how minuscule "mid/high-rise" buildings are in comparison to the mountain backdrop.

Other way around. Denver's are normal. SLC's are obscenely large.

By my very quick estimation, I'd say we are seeing in this photo approximately 25% of the metro area, not counting Boulder County.

That's true. It's really just Denver and Lakewood.

I can't help but think how fun it would be to get up early one of these Saturdays, take the W out to Jeffco, and walk Colfax from there all the way to Fitzsimmons (or a little farther maybe), and 15L it back. It's only a shade over 20 miles, certainly do-able in a day.

That must have been taken last Wednesday, it was incredibly clear that day from the air (I also flew and got a pretty good shot of Pike's Peak, but not Denver unfortunately).

Only if you wear two rigid knee braces and flip flops. Otherwise, I can't keep up with you for twenty miles. I'd be better off running an Ironman.

Ha, you're funny. How many good dive bars do you think there are in that 19.4 miles? And how many of them do you think ol' bunt will just have to check out?

Very cool aerial. Photos like this just reminds me of how much Denver resembles Calgary.

I've only been to Denver a couple times, but I never realized how flat it was for being so close to the Rockies. Awesome picture!

Still bigger than Portland and their cute little 200x200 blocks. Boise blocks are still double their size in square foot terms (and actually, about the same as Denver's, just that ours are rectangular - so smaller than Boise one way, but longer the other).
