Great shots! I would LOVE to visit Oaxaca. It reminds me of Cuzco, Peru so much.

theres a bunch of zapitek ruins within the city limits aswell...
they even have a ample theater up on the one mountan... did not make it up there thats the one thing i regreat not doing.

oaxaca city has a difrent feel from the other mexican cities it feels like its own and is not all run down people tend to take pride in there city

Incredible city and post. I'd venture to call Oaxaca underrated. The cozy street scene in the 5th pic from your second post won me over.

Thanks for the memories!

The photos of downtown in the main square bring back memories. I visited Oaxaca back in the late 80's. Sitting at a sidewalk cafe in the square with that beatiful fountain was so cool.
