That little one in the middle doesn't really seem like a keeper IMO..

IMO I don't see any of them as keepers.

and now the others are shrouded, and demolition has begun on the original, southernmost one. looking north up First

and back the other way

closer look at the demo on First St side

for now you can still drive into the little alley between the condemned buildings

internal view of the alley

this is the alley on the north side of the project limit

internal view of that alley

the northernmost buildings

the demo is also visible at the rear of the southern building from the Mission St side

I wonder what effect the election will have on this tower, since it is funded by the Chinese?

Trump's view of Chinese manipulation of their currancy is outdated. They are currently overvaluing it not undervaluing as he says. If Trump gets his way (at least how he explained it during the campaign) it could make Chinese goods cheaper and further undercut American manufacturing and would drive away Chinese investors away. As for this project? I would assume that it would not affect it but could future ones.

That picture is insane, what a vantage point! Makes me feel like I'm hanging off the ragged edge!

I sometimes forget how close this project is to Market St. you can see one of the buildings to be demolished (with the scaffolding) from this vantage point on Market

Do we know if its a ground breaking for the whole project or just one of the towers?

Seeing how Fremont and Salesforce dominate that portion of the CBD, this will be a nice complement. Will help balance out Salesforce as the taller component is quite bulky, not to mention just as stunning. In other words, Salesforce won't seem as dominating.

^ There is also another nearby tower in the works that is a few feet taller than 181 Fremont:

Nice! That's coming down pretty quickly. Almost ready for the official groundbreaking tomorrow.

Thanks for the pictures, timbad.
