NCC Ottawa River North Shore Parklands Plan | Proposed

I didn't see a thread for this - so I've made this one for the NCC Ottawa River North Shore Parklands Plan: https://ncc-ccn.gc.ca/our-plans/otta...provement-plan

It's old news from 2018 - but I assume it will deserve it's own thread. The image below is pulled from the PDF's at the bottom of the page above.

A rough outline of the plan:

As a 'victim' of the South shore plan (the Westboro Beach neighbourhood has lost access to the waterfront, not just at the beach, and this may also have in impact on the Kitchissippi Winter Trail since there's no access to the north side of SirJAM from the existing trail maintenance equipment storage area) I wouldn't hold my breath on this one.

My guess is this thread might have posts talking about signs of activity in 2024 or later.

Looks like they started working on the path or something.

But as usual, by the looks of it, it will last until the next spring. Sigh.

It needs to be raised by 5 meters or so and reinforced with larger boulders.

Like they did on the Victoria Island (where there is no MUP so it's that big of a deal to begin with).

What I'm most interested about is the bit on the lower left of the concept plan, the bridges from Zibi property to Hydro Quebec, in what seems like a pathway around the south of the northern generating station, and then a bridge across the bay in front of the station, ending roughly where that boat sculpture is on the shoreline?

That would certainly be amazing. https://maps.app.goo.gl/SyrPNiEMYWixk2rQA

Something like this?

This would require some major initiative from Portage Power and I doubt it's happening given they just went through a serious rebuild.
