that's awesome. the commission has been needing a strong landscape architectural voice on it for some time.

related: there's a wrinkle on the Force around Portland Parks recently - with former Director Zari's name surfacing about her new role, and current Director Mike Abbate's recently announced departure (his last day is tomorrow), there's lots of high level movement going on.

Julie Livingston, Chair of the Design Commission, presented their annual report to City Council this afternoon:

Tad Savinar's term on the Commission is now over, creating one vacancy. Jessica Molinar is now Vice Chair.

Andrew Clarke is no longer on the Design Commission and is being replaced by Chandra Robinson, an architect at LEVER.

I believe he's had a financial stake in some of the project Vallaster Corl has designed. Certainly no weirder than Sam Rodriguez representing "Public at Large".

square peg, round hole. I figured he'd have something in his background like that. maybe their office?

why wouldn't the City move Sam into the developer role and put Don in the other? reeks of "creative accounting" to bypass the rules. not sure if it matters at all, in the balance. just rankles my sensibilities.

Tina Bue is being appointed to the Design Commission to replace Julie Livingston, and Joe Swank to replace Don Vallaster.
