Toronto grit

Now, not to dissappoint or anything, but this is mostly of a rather selective photographic variety. Some of the "decay" seen here is in construction sites and the like. Oh, and the winter weather and grey skies help make things look scary.

While I recognize the bottom part as Regent Park, where is the top part? I've never even seen abandoned houses in Toronto.

^ though rare, there are some.

This, however, is much more common.

Fire or a failed re-development scheme is the cause for most of the abandoned buildings in Toronto. I'm pretty sure the first few abandoned are beside George Brown College's St George Campus no doubt a part of any future expansion considerations. The largest concentration of abandoned houses and vacant lots (the grassy SW corner of Parliament & Bloor is not a park) I've seen in the downtown would be the unbuilt northern blocks of St Jamestown. I doubt these blocks will remain "as is" for too much longer with the success of Verve and other nearby condos

This one looks like Black Creek in between Weston and Jane.

Man, if I could spare the bucks (yeah, whoz got em), I'd buy up some of that abandoned shit and sit on it for a few years, for speculation.
