I suppose the Courthouse will be the real litmus test to see if Travis County buildings are as slowly-built as Texas, or Austin government buildings...

Since the courthouse is being built by a private entity for the county (an arrangement I still don't truly understand), maybe the building process will be faster than the usual government build out.

I'm confused here. Two cranes are already up. What are the crane pieces on the truck for?

Second crane being erected (these were the pieces that were on the truck over the weekend). I expect they will jump it by the end of the day.

The site plan was approved and the files were posted. The height for the courthouse is up to 242 feet 6 inches. That height may only be measuring to the roof slab and not to the parapet, which would add a couple more feet. There's also a roof access staircase that looks to run 3 or 4 feet over the top of the parapet.

The elevation files are 096 and 097.

Has anyone heard when they look to break ground on the office building portion? As I understand it the construction is only for the parking (below ground) and the courthouse.

I don't think the County has ever provided a timeline for the office building construction.

I don't call if this was posted before. But it's a pretty cool 3D view of the Courthouse only.

This seems a little unusual.

Temporarily closing down all of San Antonio St. between 17th and 18th street for the duration of March 6th - 9th. Taking down one tower crane to construct another.
