As far as I know, the height restriction was made to keep clear the views of the St-Lawrence from the Mont-Royal.

It would be impossible for Longueuil to have any impact from there.
I didn't know if it was a regional agreement or not.

Btw, I heard that there wasn't any height restriction in Laval.
Is that true?

Actually I like some blue glass buildings. It's when there block after block after dreary block of them like CityPlace/Southcore. Variety is the spice of life and I like variety of architectural designs, heights, construction materials, density, colours, and shapes. It's when create endless building of the same basic buildings over and over all right up against each other that it's goes from dynamic and novel to banal and sterile.

Even when it comes to skylines, too much of anything isn't necessarily good.

This has been an amazing boom in Canada since 2000.

By the end of this boom, we'll have built 4 of our 5 tallest, Suncor being the only one completed before 2011. Including the possibility of Kings on Fourth, we may have 5 of our 6 tallest built in this boom. Also, there is the very distinct possibility of another new tallest in Calgary being proposed within the next 24 months.
