And the second building is the Bowen. I forgot it said it right there on the sign.

There's a Capmetro finance committee meeting this week. Looking at the packet, they're adding to the capital budget. Page 63 and thereabouts.

https://capmetro.org/uploadedFiles/N...nda-Packet.pdf

$25M across 2021/2022 for "Red Line Improvements"

I'm guessing that's the Broadmoor station, since the numbers match what we've heard before. I'm assuming at least half of that is coming from Brandywine, it just shows up as the whole value in the budget.

I wouldn't think it would be both Broadmoor and McKalla, as at least their implication has been that McKalla would only occur if the vote is successful (and I don't think they'd pre-budget construction expenses).

Second picture is tower 2. The bowen is right behind it.

EDIT: Tower 2, not 3.

Elevations for Block L of the Broadmoor site have been added to the site plan. The tallest office tower comes in at a nice 398'.

Damn. That wouldn't be out of place downtown. That'll be stellar for the area.

So far, and it's basically max for the zoning.

This is in the highest zone for NBG, TOD. I believe the zoning max is 360', including bonus (some of this must be exempt)

I believe the highest zoning in the Domain proper (non-NBG) is 308' (oddly).

Now that we're hitting the ceiling, maybe council should start increasing it.

The 19-story Block L tower also has some nice height at 308'. Both buildings are taller than usual for the floor count because all levels are office.

It would be nice for the Domain/Broadmoor to start to have a distinct profile. Unfortunately the buildings just aren't big enough -- or maybe just distinct enough -- to give the area much of a skyline. It just looks like a jumble of glassy midrises from most directions. Maybe this one will finally do it.

Only one of the at least four 300+ footers has started. If WFH doesn't kill them, they will make for as nice satellite skyline - especially with the ~400 footer in Block L.

I am wondering what the WFH will do to these planned projects. Where did you find the renderings for Block L ? Is there a link, thanks

Broadmoor has multiple site plans. Here is the one for Block L:
https://abc.austintexas.gov/public-s...ertyrsn=760258

The elevations are from one of the two AW Mark-up files. Only one of the files would open last time I checked, but it was the one with elevations for both buildings.

How did you come up with those heights? I haven't gotten around to adding these yet, but the heights listed on the elevations are lower.

Those are the heights per those elevations. Keep in mind the taller building starts at -10' and is about 5' taller than the highest listed height. The smaller building starts at -2.

Broadmoor station up in Monday's CapMetro board meeting. Hopefully it doesn't get pulled like during last month's.

I like that they are seeing better than expected range out of the electric buses. That's a really good sign.

Lithium batteries really don't like the cold. In use or in charging. Sure we then have to run the ac a little more, but that's a fairly predictable load.

There was a lot of noise about Albuquerque having some range issues with their BRT system, but they're a mile high. Their average low in the winter is about 15-20 degrees below us (in the mid twenties).

Just got the word that I'm moving over to Domain 12 this week (from Domain 8). Or, rather, my desk/stuff is moving. But we're still not allowed in the office. Not sure when we will be.

I'll post pics of my view when I do go back.

It passed. So we should have a fancy new station there sometime in 2022. Should grow ridership on the Red Line a bit (along with downtown station, Plaza Saltillo finishing, continued growth around Crestview, lots around ACC Highland, maybe stuff finally happening at Leander Northline).

Then if the vote passes in November, add on the McKalla station shortly afterwards, and a connection at Crestview to Orange/Blue in ~2030.

With the new station, is there any discussion about parking at this location? The Crestview location has a limitation that the property owner doesn't want it to become a park-and-ride location. The station closest to downtown with sizable parking is the Howard Lane stop.
