I think I'll have to call this my favourite since it's the only bridge here I've actually driven over. Although technically, the Lions Gate bridge is identical to Hfx's MacDonald bridge, so I kinda have lol.

Stunning picture! I love the old bridges, including the Brooklyn Bridge and the Eads Bridge in St. Louis. For suspension bridges, the Mackinac Island Bridge is indeed beautiful, but it doesn't beat the wonderful details on the Golden Gate Bridge and certainly not the setting.

I grew up thinking Arlington Memorial Bridge in my hometown, Washington, was impressive. The bridge itself is rather ponderous, but the setting and the embellishments are kind of awesome:

Haha thats funny considering that it was the longest suspension bridge in the world until 1964. The GGB is my favorite not only because of it's wonderful deco design but also because of it's spectacular setting. Say what you will but no bridge can match up. (certainly not a 1950's wannabe). However, the Brooklyn Bridge is definitely my second favorite and the Manhattan my third.

I'd Have to Say my favorite is the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, in Philadelphia, always been a favorite of mine, cant really put it into words why

Hardly. The Verrazano Narrows in NYC has a longer center span, high towers, and twice the capacity as the Golden Gate.

I like most Golden Gate in San Francisco, 25 de Abril and Vasco da Gama in Lisbon Potugal, the famous Rialto in Venice, Ponta da Amizade connecting Paraguay to Brazil and Rio-Niterói in Rio De Janeiro, most of them already got through. The Calatravas Bridges are also awesome....

itsdenis the thread subject is the Most Beautiful Bridge. While the Verrazano Narrows may have longer span, higher towers, and twice the capacity as the Golden Gate it certainly is not nearly as attractive (to put it mildly) or does it have the setting that the GGB does.

^ The Golden Gate Bridge actually has higher towers at 746 feet compared to the VNB's 690 feet.
