Here are some photo updates I took yesterday (Wed, July 2):

Fresh Food Company, corner of Hackberry and Margaret:

View of the pedestrian corridor between Fresh Food and Rogers. There is a nicer entrance to FFC that faces Rogers that you can't see in this photo. I'll try and get a picture of it soon.

Presidential Village II. Sorry it's obstructed, I was at the stop sign. There is currently a divided road being built between where this photo was taken and Hackberry.

I was under the impression that the FFC was going up where the old house stood and that was why the house needed to be torn down, but that is clearly not the case. There is just a "park" there now.

I agree... they replaced it with a park with the charming name of "Hackberry Park"!

BTW, I've got some photos I took today that I'll post in the next 10-15 min or so.

I took these.

First are photos of the Ferg expansion, then the Women's Crew boathouse:

Below is the main building for the Crew:

Below is what appears to be the beginning of an attendance area for our Crimson Tide Ladies' events!

So it looks like the entire interior of the Ferg is being renovated. I should look real nice when done.

The entirety of Fresh Food (as it existed in The Ferg) is being redone. As far as I know, it is being retooled as extra seating (like the seating you would normally see on the 2nd floor of The Ferg).

Here are some fresh pictures of the new Fresh Food Company building:

Looking South from just north of the Rodgers Library entrance:

Looking toward The Ferg from the "plaza entrance" of both Fresh Food and Rodgers:

The outdoor seating area for Fresh Food that faces Rodgers:

Looking north from the Hackberry/Margaret intersection; Fresh Food is on the left, Rodgers on the right:

South facing seating area of Fresh Food:

Same South facing outdoor seating of Fresh Food, this time with a shot of the outdoor fireplace:

Outstanding. I would be completely lost if I were dropped off blindfolded in that part of campus now.

I saw the ground floor on the Supe Store side from the exterior: it appeared to be completely renovated too.

Rendering for New Classroom Building to be built on former Bryce land

http://vimeo.com/108385138 I haven't seen a post here in quite a while, so I thought I would add this one. Its the Fall 2014 Faculty/Staff address by President Bonner. At the 24 minute mark, you can see a slide of the rendering for the new classroom building, which will be built across from Shelby Hall, in the land formerly owned by Bryce hospital. She goes over a number of other things, such as enrollment gains, the goals of future enrollment growth (mostly graduate students from now on), and other campus construction.

Does anyone know how to make a screenshot of the rendering at the 24 minute mark? thanks

Alabama has hired Avery Johnson as its new men's basketball coach. I like the hire, and I like his personality and enthusiasm. Of course, we'll have to wait to see how successful he is.

The main thing I'm wondering is what Bill Battle offered him other than the money. In the picture above you can see Battle presenting Coleman to Avery, but I wonder what Coach Johnson thinks of the coliseum. We have the money, space, and ease to build a new facility (one that could actually have suites).

I think tomorrow's (Wednesday's) press conference will be very informative.

There's been quite bit of development going on at the University. There's construction going on at Sorority Row, a new house I believe. Then a new parking deck has been built.

Along with that, the baseball facility is coming along great. I'll post pics below. Then behind Fraternity Row, I believe they're fixing the road or something on the hill. I can't seem to remember. And then the band practice field had some sewage problems, so they're fixing that.

Here's the baseball stadium
