Judas Priest concert in Halifax has been rescheduled to April 7. Queensryche is now the opening act instead of Sabaton.

Imagine Dragons coming to the Avenir Centre on April 28th.

This will be their only Atlantic Canadian stop on their 11 city Canadian tour. Next closest will be Quebec City.

I've seen an image of a leaked poster for the YQM country festival August 26th 27th. Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line, Brett Young, Scott McCreary and others @ the new MusiqArt site in Dieppe. Not sure if anyone else on here has further confirmation. Their announcement on their website is showing to be 2 days away.

It would be quite comical to see Dieppe have success with this new location after so many struggles by Moncton to bring consistent acts to the hill. Huge for Greater Moncton Area either way though, especially with a 2 day festival.

Magnetic Hill can accommodate more people and the natural slope of the hill makes it a better venue for large crowds but the MusiquArt site is in a much better location, walking distance to many amenities and with better road access. Once downtown Dieppe fills in with more dining options, then I can see MusiquArt becoming the premier site in the area for outdoor moderate size concerts. If its successful, maybe the city would even consider a permanent outdoor venue like a smaller Leader Bank pavilion in Boston.

The concert was confirmed today

I agree with the above, a little investment in some additional infrastructure on the site (roofed area, seating etc) could go a long way in securing multiple dates in the summer time. There is always tours coming through that do the Bangor, Boston, Portland, Mansfield and others on the east coast. Dieppe would be a logical additional date for one of those tours. The Wingate Hotel must be thrilled.

Especially with some bigger acts playing the outdoor pavilion in Maine. I had a few concerts lined up there pre covid that killed them.

Not sure why so many folks love to rip on Magnetic Hill.
Hotels, campgrounds, casino, taxis, public transit, restaurants in abundance plus a winery, right at the door, walking distance to the concert gates which are accessible by a four lane highway.
The only fault in my view was the lack of consistency, as someone noted. Other than that, a significant number of the best acts on the planet seemed to be okay with it.
I have never had a bad experience there and I've been blessed to take in shows in multiple venues across Canada, the east coast of the US and Europe.
Let us pray that Ian Fowler rises from the dead on Easter Sunday. Oh wait, it's been done. Ian got stuff done. Those in the show business will tell you that those who took over the concert biz for the city after his passing shit the bed. No disrespect intended to those people, they are great assets to taxpayers, they can't excel at everything.
I wish Dieppe the very best with this initiative.

Anyone have an ear to the ground for lineup rumours for the Area 506 festival?

Completely agree.

Also, what am I missing about the Dieppe site?

It's in a residential neighbourhood with limited parking/public transport infrastructure. That whole area will clog right up.

And aren't those residents going to whinge about this?

For amenities, there are a couple pizza places and restos nearby, along with a single hotel.

It'll be a big day for Angies though!

I've been hearing a lot of similar comments about the location and in a way I find it very similar to the comments people had about the location of Avenir Centre before it opened.

The MusiquART site is a 10 minute walk from Champlain Mall which is the easiest place to get to by bus in the whole Moncton area. Paul street and Champlain have loads of restaurants a short walk away. And beyond that, downtown Moncton is a 25 minute walk from the concert site, for out-of-towners who don't want to take a bus or are unwilling to park anywhere in central/downtown Dieppe.

I have no idea how people can even compare this to the Magnetic Hill concert site - of all places - in terms of nearby access to restaurants/hotels/transit.

I'm not really up on the country music scene, but from the sounds of it the scale of this festival seems to be much closer to a big Avenir Centre concert than to the huge names we used to get at Magnetic Hill. It's not like this will meaningfully clog up the area.

That’s a pretty big name in the comedy scene. Should sell pretty well!
