I'd much rather see another airline (AA, UA or DL) step up...thus, possibly increasing our chances for overseas direct flights. WN will give us nothing. WN is really pushing their international "terminal" (more like a four-gate wing) at HOU with flights all over the Caribbean and Colombia.
DL lost it's base in Dallas (rather DL killed it)...so if Austin is going to secure any chance of a small hub, it would be with DL (since AA and UA's largest hubs are at DFW and IAH, respectively...less than 200 miles from AUS). However, that is not likely to happen.
In 2014: other than WN (yielded a 37.3% market share - up 2.5% from 2013), AA had a 18% market share (Y-O-Y=+4%); UA had 16.6% (Y-O-Y=+17%); and DL had 12.4% market share (Y-O-Y=+10.5%).
