Portland Photo Thread

It's been forever since we've had a Portland photo thread in the city photos section...so since Time magazine named us, the 'people of the year' I figured it would only makes sense, in keeping with the Time's spirit, to have a photo thread assemble by all the excellent pics taken by...well...you...and mostly Dougall...over the past few months. If you've got some P-town pics, post them here, otherwise, I've just picked a few various pics to show mostly the latest on Portland's developments.

nice Okstate...how long until you move out here?

Damn, I took all those photos for a thread and never got around to posting them. Guess I need to ramp up the work again. I've been traveling Oregon for business the last three months and have Bend/Redmond, Corvallis, Salem, Astoria, Cannon Beach, Lincoln City, Depot Bay, and Albany to post in another thread too...

I'll be in Salem in a few weeks. I'll try to get some shots of the 2nd largest city in Oregon.

.....Not much to show in Salem. Very bland. Extremely bland.

I'll be heading that way around the end of July (08') unless U of Oregon accepts me & PSU doesn't for the masters program. I'm much more interested in Portland. Until then, this is my only outlet (and an outstanding one at that).

Has there ever been pictures taken of 23rd or 21st street posted on here? I know this area gets alot of blah remarks due to the "yuppies" but i'd be interested in seeing what this part of the city look like. I know goosehollow gets included as do some NW photos, i've just never noticed these streets on here in particular.

okstate, check out www.portlandground.com - all kinds of pictures of the city, organized by neighborhood.

northwest - the neighborhood around 23rd - is pretty yuppified, but the southern end, with more apartments, seems to have a higher proportion of young student types. 23rd itself though is a hopeless row of boutiques.

21st is lined with some good drinking holes.

Of course, not as many as there used to be... and all these expen$ive Italian restaurants are popping up. I mean, why do you really need 5 Tuscan-styled restaurants in a row?!
