Wow, cool vantage point! It'll be interesting when the tower starts going up, as it's going to be one of Toronto's tallest.

The podium has to be completed by the end of 2012 and will be occupied by retailers while work continues on the rest of the tower. The white crane (southernmost) was supposed to be raised last week but they're having problems configuring things because once they raise that crane they run the risk of the two south cranes bumping into each other.

Look at this old rendering of Yonge St. (I think it was made when Dundas Sq. was being planned- there's no RoCP, Pantages Tower is a different design). It shows a standard L-shaped slab tower in the location of Aura.

Nice find!

I remember that rendering from like 8 or 9 years ago, when I first joined this forum.

In that last pic, you can see just how tall Four Seasons is compared to the rest of Yorkville...wow...and to think, Aura will be that much taller...

It's hard for me to imagine just how tall and large Aura will eventually be.

It will be quite a contrast, like when the T-D Centre was completed in 1969 and it towered over all of its surrounding. But even then it was a group of buildings and was not as tall as Aura will be. Aura will be the tallest building outside of a similarly-sized cluster in Toronto history!
