That's what I thought as well. I heard now the third level of retail at MRV is now offices. Plus, isn't that a small floor plate for a movie theatre?

Correct, MRV West is only office and retail, no theatre. It was in the original plan but didn't come together.

That's sad! I would have been a 5 minute walk to the movies.
Here is hoping the old First South site gets one

Dare I say a new theatre in the Beltline would be busier than the new one going in the Eau-Claire redevelopment project. Way more and denser areas to draw from to the south of the tracks.

Who can we email to make this happen? As much as I love Beltline, it's missing a lot of amenities. Movie theatre being one!

I'm thinking Beltline Planning Group, Victoria Park BRZ, Evan Woolley, Nenshi.

Those groups/folks don't have any power over a private development, and putting a zoning in place requiring one would be an unfortunate way of achieving it. If one was so inclined they could start their own business to open one.

I'd start with Cineplex and go from there....

I think it would be really busy too. I'm not in the development business, but it must all come down to economics. The space the theater would require might not make it economically feasible in an area like the Beltline, even if it was really busy.

+1. You can't just plop a movie theater. What if there's no demand for a theater in Beltline?

Eau Claire had IMAX for downtown core and that was a dud.

The Eau-Claire theatres are outdated, the new ones in the redevelopment project will be a bigger draw.

Beltline does have higher traffice evenings and weekends, which is when most people go to movies. Eau-Claire is still more of a workout crowd after hours.

Was thinking the Eau-Claire could draw from NoBow communities, a Beltline theatre could draw from SoBow communities.

Anybody think of anything that has started construction that we can add to the list?

Hi Fusili, you can add 207 units under proposed for the Beltline (Genco 1108)

Updated to add Lido, the Kensington and Mission 34 under construction. Will eventually get total U/C for inner city. Anyone have any updates on those?

Will wait on WAM on 10th the get their BP released before that gets added as well.

Mission 34 had their ground-breaking ceremony a couple of weeks ago but so far I haven't seen any actual ground being broken. Maybe today's the day?

You could add Tela to the list. It is now underway in Mission. - sorry I didn't read page one first, I see you already have Tela!

I saw Caisson drills at Smith yesterday, so I am adding it to the list.

Anyone know if WAM on 10th is U/C yet? Hard to tell until there is a crane.
