This will take 36 months or 3 years to finish. Also, half of the tower is sold. For the database, this tower is 62 floors, not 60.

This is one of the most beautiful towers going up in the USA right now....I'm shocked at the lack of responses.

^^^

If this tower had the word Chicago in the title, it would have over a 1000 posts by now. 63 posts on a tower like this is terrible.

It is a nice tower. Not many that look like this anywhere. This one is unique.

Some of the finest architecture is going up in Miami. Just look at some of the other proposals that will begin in early 2015. This city is in a league of its own, along with NYC.

Hi guys,
I was over at the site a couple of days ago and thought that I would take some pictures. I'm sorry about how horrible the iPhone pictures turned out...i'll try to take better ones in the future!
Anyways, any news on this one?

Probably the most futuristic structure going up in the U.S.. Shanghai meets Miami or something like that.

This could take a while to start rising vertically. They are putting foundation piles 155-feet down below ground and are drilling 160 feet down.

God DAMN, why do they need to dig down that deep? Is that the usual depth for a building of this scale?

Has to do with the engineering of the structure and the pressure that such a design has. Depending on the design, and how its formulated, it may require "X" amount of subterranean work and a strong foundation for it to be stable. Also the type of soil and land that its on. You can see this change based on the structure type and its location with respect to Geology. Look at Wilshire grand or Nordstrom for example.

One Thousand Museum Bulldozes Through 50 Percent Under Contract Mark

Quote:
When it comes to sales as of late, One Thousand Museum has been kicking ass and taking names. While attending a VIP dinner event held at the One Thousand Museum sales gallery last Thursday, I learned that over 50 percent of the units at One Thousand Museum are now under contract. And I’m talking hard contracts here, each with deposits received and past their 15-day rescission period. From what I heard that night, sales had hovered around the 30 percent mark for a while but then, in the weeks following Art Basel and the developer’s brilliantly timed groundbreaking ceremony, it has been full speed ahead with no signs of slowing. Currently, the entry point to get in at One Thousand Museum is slightly over $5.5M, or $1,200 per square foot – although that may have changed since Thursday given that I learned yesterday that two new contracts were signed on Saturday. No word yet, however, as to which two units those might be. 50 percent under contract at this point is big news in and of itself, but what really blew my mind last Thursday night is that the developer already has six of the total eight full-floor residences under contract. The two remaining full-floor residences are priced slightly under $17.5M and $20M. With each having just under 10,000 interior square feet, those work out to be a little more than $1,750 and $2,000 per square foot respectively. That’s right folks, take a moment to process that small yet impactful piece of information and realize its significance, not only just for One Thousand Museum, but also for the Downtown Miami real estate market as a whole.

One Thousand Museum's Underwater View

Architect Zaha Hadid's plan for the crown of One Thousand Museum bravely answers the question: What if you could see the view from the top of a 700-foot skyscraper, but, like, while you were underwater?
Though the tower will already be eye-catching for its exoskeleton-like design, the rooftop pool might ultimately be the most talked-about feature. The entire pool deck takes up the top two floors of the 61-floor building, and the west-facing wall of the pool will be made of glass. Meaning, with goggles on, you'll be able to see across Miami-Dade County straight to the Everglades while you're underwater. Of course, the cheapest unit in the building starts at $5.5 million.
