Bump. Wondering if there's more news of this tower.

PMG Set To Close On Echo Brickell Land For $25 Million

By exMiami Staff on July 16, 2013

Echo Brickell developer PMG is set to close on a $25 million purchase of the land at 1451 Brickell Avenue where the tower will be built. The sale is expected to close on Wednesday, according to a press release issued by the broker. A $25 million sale values the property at about $955 per square foot.

The seller is a corporation which lists Jorge Hernandez as director. The land was last sold in 2008 for $22 million.

Construction of Echo Brickell is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2014.

Oh well. Don't know if the FAA or economics are behind the downscaling:

http://exmiami.org/index.php/echo-br...d-fewer-units/

Echo Brickell is now to be 57-stories and 635 feet with 166-units.

This tower was recently FAA approved, and is coming back from the recession. The height is 637 feet since it was downsized. The mayor also expects this one to be fully approved and ready for construction as well. Good thing all these projects are coming back from the grave.

Sad because the height reduction will likely mean a change in design to one of the cooler proposals on this forum. It seriously is a sweet looking tower in those renders.

^ Thanks for the info but I'm wondering when this tower is going to break ground? This project was announced just a about a year ago and the site is still empty.

The official data from PMG said the first quarter of 2014. But I'm sure by the summer it will speed up. Maybe a slight delay as of this moment.

Glad to see this one progressing. Even with the downscaled height, still a great looking tower.

Echo Brickell Wins $124M Construction Loan
By Jennifer LeClaire

MIAMI—Property Markets Group just won a $123.6 million senior construction loan for Echo Brickell, a 57-story luxury residential condo development in the heart of Downtown Miami’s Brickell Financial District. Canyon Capital Realty Advisors offered the funds.

Ronald Muzii, Jr., South Florida-based senior director with Canyon, called the condo development an “iconic addition to the Brickell skyline." Echo Brickell is currently over 80% presold, and groundbreaking will begin immediately with delivery set for 2017.

“We expect the developer will deliver the highest quality residential experience available in Brickell today and look forward to working with them and their team,” says Muzii. “As the 12th investment in Florida in the last four years and the third major debt transaction in the Brickell submarket, the Echo Brickell transaction demonstrates Canyon Realty’s commitment to invest in this community.”

I walked by this site on the 28th and it didn't look too different than it did in the picture that Chris posted.

Yea it began construction. I believe right now its not up to the SSP version of construction, but in relative terms, it is u/c.

I checked the website, and they did update it. Here are some very nice renderings (interior).

http://www.echobrickell.com/gallery/

It will pick up in the next couple of months. Many developers have a timeline of steel rising for q1 of 2015. Most of this tower is sold btw (85%>).
